It's not REALLY important, but I missed that here in Skyrim.Д¬lick to expand.1) It was pretty linear. You didn't just go from whelp to Archmage or whatever. You actually had a TITLE wherever you were at in standing with the guild. In fact that ql is boring imo.ДЄnyway, what I REALLY miss from the guilds of Morrwind and such is the actual rankings you climbed as you rose to glory in each guild. I think the civil war line was supposed to make up for it, but it doesn't imo. It's not like the game overall is lacking there as a result of less beefy guilds. However, there's more than enough quests to go around in Skyrim. I never got that feeling from the other guilds in Skyrim.ДЄnd yes, the guilds in the last two ES games were beefier. There's just more to it, and by the time you do it all you actually feel like you SHOULD be running the guild. The way you 'rebuild' the guild to it's former glory outside of the guild's mq is a mechanic lacking in the other guilds in Skyrim. It was the beefiest of the lot, and the best imo in terms of story. and you're BAM Archmage! You could become an archmage with no Magic-school skill above 20. In Skyrim you do a bunch of quests, of which only the first few require novice-level magic ability and the later parts require none whatsoever. You needed to get at least one Mage skill to 90. At least in Morrowind you actually had to develop your skills as a mage to be allowed the title of Archmage. There isn't even a Mage skill requirement beyond the three trivial early ones that you could do at 15 in a mage skill (entrance, wards class, Saarthal wall). 'All of a sudden you're archmage'? To me, that's the problem with Skyrim's. You had to figure out where the shack was by following the vague walking directions given to you involving visual-cue milestones.ДЈ. There wasn't a magic GPS arrow telling you the exact location of your next checkpoint. If you didn't feel like doig Quest X right now you could go do Quest Y instead and still have it be relevant.Дў. There were a mutltitude of questgivers whose quests would all contribute to your guild reputation.

You weren't always railroaded into the one next quest that led to the one next quest that led to the one next quest.
